Job summary

entrustIT Group in Bedford is seeking a Data Cabling Project Manager to own projects from planning to completion. This is a management and coordination role, not hands-on installation, focusing on planning, resource management, budgets, and safe, timely delivery.

You'll coordinate engineers and subcontractors on Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a, fibre optic and containment systems, with direct client and stakeholder contact and strong emphasis on safety and quality control.

Qualifications

  • Project management or coordination experience within data cabling, structured cabling or network infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, fibre optic and containment systems.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate engineering teams and subcontractors.
  • Strong client relationship management skills.
  • Commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Professional, calm approach under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
  • Full, clean UK Driving Licence.
  • Eligibility for Enhanced DBS check.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, ECS/CSCS or SSSTS qualifications would be an advantage.

  • Reviewing RAMS and overseeing Health & Safety and Quality Control.
  • Reviewing installation testing and certification.
  • Supporting pre- and post-sales activities.
  • Producing project, financial and performance reports.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and project delivery.

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in structured cabling and network infrastructure?

entrustIT Group is looking for an ambitious and highly organised Data Cabling Project Manager to join our growing Projects Team in Bedford.

We deliver cutting-edge technology solutions across the Corporate, Hospitality, Retail, Transport and Education sectors. From structured cabling and fibre infrastructure to WiFi, CCTV and access control, we help organisations build the connected environments they need to succeed.

The Role

As Data Cabling Project Manager, you'll take ownership of projects from initial planning through to successful completion.

This is a management and coordination role rather than a hands-on installation position. You'll use your technical knowledge to plan projects, coordinate engineers and subcontractors, manage resources and budgets, and ensure every project is delivered safely, on time and to the highest possible standard.

You'll Be Responsible For:
  • Managing structured and data cabling projects from start to finish

What We're Looking For

You'll be an organised, commercially aware and solutions-focused Project Manager with a strong understanding of structured cabling.

Essential Experience & Skills:
  • Project Management or Project Coordination experience within data cabling, structured cabling or network infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, fibre optic and containment systems
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to lead and coordinate engineering teams and subcontractors
  • Strong client relationship management skills
  • Commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and project management software
  • A calm and professional approach when working under pressure
  • Willingness to travel to project sites when required
  • Full, clean UK Driving Licence
  • Ability to successfully complete an Enhanced DBS check
  • PMP, PRINCE2, ECS/CSCS or SSSTS qualifications would be an advantage but are not essential.
