Job Overview

Job Title: Site Manager Structured Cabling (Permanent) – Location: London – Salary: Up to £50K – Contract Type: Permanent – Industry: Telecoms / Data Cabling / Fibre Optics – Working Hours: Full Time

Job Description: To manage all on-site structured cabling activities on a construction project, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure smooth delivery of all copper and fibre installations, while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and team coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day site operations for structured cabling installations.
• Run and coordinate multiple teams of engineers on-site.
• Attend client and contractor meetings as required.
• Manage permit control and toolbox talks.
• Conduct PPE inspections and daily task briefings.
• Deliver weekly Health & Safety site inspections.
• Extensive knowledge of copper & fibre installation systems.
• Competent in copper & fibre fault finding.
• Understanding of shielded cabling systems and proper earthing procedures.
• Create and manage patching schedules.
• Proficient in using Fluke test equipment and LinkWare Live.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Proven experience managing large-scale construction sites.
• Strong technical knowledge in structured cabling and fibre optics.
• SMSTS Certification (or equivalent) [Required].
• Manager-level ECS Card [Required].
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Professional, proactive, and confident in managing teams and client relationships.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills across multiple platforms.
• Demonstrates integrity, accountability, and a strong work ethic.
