Job summary

Menter a Busnes is seeking an Assistant Herdsperson for a Gloucestershire dairy farm. You will help with daily care, calf rearing, feeding, and monitor the robotic milking system as part of a supportive team.

The role offers a competitive salary (£30,000–£34,000) and a schedule around 42–45 hours per week, with potential accommodation and development opportunities within a progressive family farming business.

Qualifications

• Experience in dairy, cattle or livestock farming is required.
• Willingness to learn and develop practical skills.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to work alternate weekends.

Responsibilities

• Care for the daily care, health and welfare of the dairy herd.
• Carry out calf rearing and youngstock duties.
• Assist with TMR feeding and general feeding duties.
• Monitor cows and operate the robotic milking system.
• Identify and report herd health or welfare concerns.
• Maintain high standards of animal welfare and biosecurity.
• Work with the wider farm team to ensure smooth dairy unit operations.
• Keep a safe, tidy working environment and follow Health & Safety procedures.
