Talent Agri in West Wales is seeking an experienced Farm Manager for a 400-acre dairy operation near Ffos-y-ffin. You will take ownership of the herd, grazing, fertility and day-to-day direction, with a strong grass-based system and a supportive family-owned team.

FARM MANAGER - NEAR FFOS-Y-FFIN, WEST WALES

A proper Farm Manager role for someone who wants responsibility, a strong grass-based system and the chance to make a genuine impact.

We are recruiting for a well-run, family-owned dairy farm near Ffos-y-ffin, close to Aberaeron on the West Wales coast. This is not a role where you are simply expected to milk cows and follow a list. You will have real ownership of the herd, grazing, fertility, team and day-to-day direction of the unit.

The farm runs approximately 300 cows across around 400 acres on a straightforward spring-calving, grass-led system. Machinery work is limited, so the focus stays where it should be: cows, grass and performance.

The Farm

• Approximately 400 cows
• Spring-calving, grass-based dairy system
• Strong focus on grazing, grass utilisation and herd performance
• Twice-a-day milking at approximately 5am and 3pm
• 24:48 parlour
• Established team,

The Role

You will take charge of the daily running and performance of the dairy, including:

• Managing the herd through calving and the full grazing season
• Making grass and grazing decisions that improve farm performance
• Fertility management, AI and breeding
• Foot trimming and herd health
• Managing the milking team and keeping daily routines running properly
• Maintaining high standards of cow welfare, presentation and production
• Working directly with the owners to drive the farm forward

The Person

You will be an experienced Herd Manager or Farm Manager who knows grass-based dairy inside out.

You must be able to lead from the front, make sensible decisions without being micromanaged and get the best out of both cows and people. Strong practical ability with AI, foot trimming, fertility and grazing management is essential.
