Job summary

Thales Group in Belfast is seeking a Security Analyst to join a hybrid team. You will analyse large web traffic data, detect anomalies, and work with customers and internal teams to implement mitigation strategies against automated attacks.

The role requires strong SQL, data visualization (Tableau/Looker), scripting (Python/Bash/Go), and good communication. A Bachelor’s degree in IT/Math/Engineering/Computer Science is expected; occasional evenings/mornings and follow-the-sun support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/Math/Engineering/Computer or equivalent.
• Strong SQL skills and ability to write efficient queries.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau or Looker).
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Python/Bash/Go).
• HTTP network knowledge and understanding of how websites are delivered to browsers.

Responsibilities

• Become Thales Expert on platform and bot-attack detection.
• Monitor internal queue and provide incident response per SLA.
• Analyse false positives to improve detection mechanisms.
• Analyze web traffic data to identify new bot behaviours.
• Collaborate with customers to understand issues and devise mitigations.
• Deliver actionable intelligence to product and research teams.
• Create consumable reports to validate findings.
