Job summary

Thales Group in Belfast, Northern Ireland, is seeking a Security AI Operations Engineer to bridge automated AI workflows with human security operations. You will supervise AI-assisted investigations, manage HITL routing, and help shape runbooks and knowledge bases.

You will work with AWS Bedrock, OpenSearch, and security platforms, align with SOC practices, and collaborate with sales engineering to demonstrate value of Thales security automation solutions.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in a SOC/MSSP/ITSM or related role.
• 2+ years working with AI/Gen AI-enabled tools or workflows.
• Working knowledge of security operations, threat lifecycle, alert triage, WAF/API security, and MITRE ATT&CK/NIST frameworks.
• Experience with generative AI tools, prompt workflows, and enterprise ticketing/orchestration platforms (Jira/ServiceNow/PagerDuty/SOAR).
• Familiarity with AWS Bedrock/OpenSearch Dashboards/CloudWatch.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate AI-generated enrichments, threat summaries, and triage recommendations.
• Assign and track complex investigations to Tier 2/3 analysts.
• Maintain HITL routing and escalation for exceptions or integration issues.
• Curate runbooks, SOPs, threat intel, and product docs in Bedrock/OpenSearch.
• Audit AI outputs against human benchmarks and report KPIs (MTTR, velocity).
