Job summary

Reed is seeking a Senior Threat Analyst in Manchester for a hybrid role, with on-site presence required fortnightly. You will lead threat intelligence activities, produce executive briefings, and translate complex cyber threats into actionable information for senior stakeholders.

You will monitor threat actors, TTPs and IOCs, support incident response, and mentor a small team, helping to shape and improve the organisation's Threat Intelligence function within the public sector context.

Qualifications

  • Strong Cyber Threat Intelligence / threat analysis experience.
  • Experience briefing senior or executive stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of cyber threats and the threat intelligence lifecycle.
  • Leadership, coaching or mentoring experience.
  • Backgrounds within law enforcement, government, defence or wider intelligence could also be highly relevant where combined with strong cyber knowledge.

Senior Threat Analyst

Manchester/Hybrid (on site once a fortnight and as required)

Circa £65,000 + Excellent Benefits

A Senior Threat Analyst is required to join a well-established public sector organisation within its Cyber Threat Intelligence function. This is a great opportunity for an experienced threat intelligence professional who combines strong cyber knowledge with leadership and executive-level communication skills.

Key responsibilities:
  • Producing threat assessments, intelligence reports and executive briefings.
  • Translating complex cyber threats into clear, actionable information for senior and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Monitoring intelligence sources and assessing threat actors, TTPs and IOCs.

Desirable:
  • Relevant industry qualifications and certifications (CPTIA, CRTIA, SANS FOR578).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as the MITRE ATT&CK matrix and/or Cyber Kill Chain.
  • A working knowledge of the following product sets are ideal: CrowdStrike Microsoft Suite Orpheus
