Experis UK is recruiting a Cyber Security Engineer to join an established financial services business. The role covers shaping strategy, managing an external SOC relationship, and guiding the business to adopt AI safely.

You will combine technical expertise with stakeholder influence, identify emerging risks, and translate recommendations into practical action. The position offers flexible working options and the chance to work across cloud, endpoint and identity security.

Qualifications

• Experience shaping cyber security strategy and delivering improvements.
• Experience managing an external SOC or security provider.
• Practical knowledge of Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel.
• Understanding of cloud security, incident response and vulnerability management.
• Interest in AI governance and risk assessment.
• Ability to present to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to translate findings into clear business recommendations.
• Experience in regulated environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Help shape and deliver the cyber security strategy, identifying priorities and driving improvements.
• Manage the relationship with the external Security Operations Centre, reviewing service effectiveness and coordinating investigations and incident response.
• Monitor emerging threats, technologies and regulatory developments to understand their potential impact.
• Develop AI governance, controls and guidance to support safe adoption of AI tools.
• Deliver engaging training and awareness activities for colleagues across the business.
• Assess and improve security controls across Microsoft cloud, endpoint and identity environments.
• Oversee vulnerability management, prioritising remediation.
• Provide security guidance on technology projects and business changes.
• Maintain clear documentation, procedures and operational records.
