Job summary

Experis is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer for a financial services client. The role spans shaping cyber security strategy, managing an external SOC, and guiding safe AI adoption of tools like Microsoft Copilot.

You will identify emerging risks, translate findings into business actions, deliver training, and ensure robust security across Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, cloud, endpoint and identity systems.

Qualifications

• Strong cyber security background with strategy experience.
• Experience managing an external SOC or security service provider.
• Practical knowledge of Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel.
• Understanding of cloud security, incident response and vulnerability management.
• Interest in AI governance and risk assessment.
• Ability to present findings to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Shape and deliver the cyber security strategy, identifying priorities and driving improvements.
• Manage the relationship with the external SOC, reviewing service effectiveness and coordinating investigations and incident response.
• Monitor emerging threats, technologies and regulatory developments to understand their impact.
• Develop AI governance, controls and guidance to support safe adoption of AI tools.
• Deliver engaging training, presentations and awareness activities for colleagues across the business.
• Assess and improve security controls across Microsoft cloud, endpoint and identity environments.
• Oversee vulnerability management, prioritising remediation with internal teams and suppliers.
• Provide security guidance on technology projects and business changes.
• Maintain clear documentation, procedures and operational records.
