Job summary

Financial Conduct Authority in the United Kingdom seeks a Senior AI Security Consultant to lead and shape AI security across the organisation. You will provide expert guidance on AI threats, risk assessments and design of secure AI systems, working with governance, technology and risk teams.

The role requires deep knowledge of AI security, threat modelling and risk-based controls, with the ability to mentor colleagues and drive the adoption of robust security frameworks across projects.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in cyber security, security architecture, security consultancy, or risk management.
• Knowledge of AI security and risk frameworks such as OWASP LLM Top 10, MITRE ATLAS, NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001/ISO 27001.
• Experience developing and implementing security frameworks, policies, standards and governance models.

Responsibilities

• Provide authoritative AI security subject matter knowledge to support risk-informed decision-making across the FCA.
• Carry out AI threat modelling, security risk assessment and security design activities for AI systems and emerging digital capabilities.
• Provide specialist oversight and technical leadership for AI security reviews, control validation and testing activities.
• Oversee development and continual improvement of AI security frameworks, standards, policies, and secure design principles.
• Act as the FCA’s AI Security authority and centre of expertise, translating findings into practical guidance and risk management approaches.
• Build organisational AI security capability through stakeholder engagement and knowledge sharing.
• Demonstrate flexibility in managing shifting priorities and workloads to support wider business needs.
• Provide leadership and mentorship across SE&A, promoting security best practice.
• Support the SE&A Manager in driving continuous improvement of SE&A services.
