Job summary

The University of Bath is seeking candidates for a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Reader in Cyber Security in the Department of Computer Science. Two positions will be filled at the level appropriate to experience, with a starting salary from £58,225 and rising to £67,468. Closing date is 30 September 2026.

The role combines research, teaching, and departmental service. Ideal candidates will have a PhD, strong research output, and a commitment to teaching excellence.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline, with a first degree or equivalent experience.
• Membership of a professional body and a higher education teaching qualification (e.g. PGCert, FHEA) are desirable.
• Substantial research experience with funding success for Lecturers; established profile for Senior Lecturers/Readers.
• Experience teaching at UG/PG levels is essential.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and publish papers; apply for research funding.
• Lead design and delivery of teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
• Help with running the department (e.g., student placements, ethics, recruitment).
• Possess a clear research vision and contribute to strategic development.
