Job summary

Focus Group is seeking a Cyber Presales Consultant to join our hybrid UK-based team. You will serve as the presales subject matter expert for cyber security, shaping solutions for customers across Microsoft 365 Defender, MDR/EDR, and firewall technologies.

You will run discovery, design robust solutions, and present business value. Occasional travel to customer sites is required as part of our cyber presales leadership in the MSP/MSSP space.

Qualifications

• Deep experience in cyber security presales or technical consultancy, preferably in MSP/MSSP.
• Ability to be the most technically credible security expert in client meetings.
• Experience scoping and presenting SOC services, penetration testing and vulnerability scanning.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 Defender, MDR/EDR and firewall technologies.
• Familiarity with Cloudflare One and compliance frameworks including Cyber Essentials/CE+.
• Ability to translate technical risk for non-technical business owners without losing substance.
• Proven track record writing security-focused commercial proposals and RFPs.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support throughout the sales cycle, from first conversation to close.
• Run discovery calls, workshops and technical assessments with customers.
• Design robust cyber security solutions, fully validated before presenting to the customer.
• Present solutions with business value and cost savings.
• Own technical documentation: designs, network diagrams, statements of work.
• Lead or co‑lead RFP responses with compelling technical and commercial proposals.
• Act as presales subject matter expert on Focus Group’s cyber portfolio.
