Job summary

DSV - Global Transport and Logistics is seeking a Customs Specialist to join our Mercia Park site. The role focuses on delivering accurate, efficient and compliant customs services across the business, supporting multiple locations with day-to-day customs activity.

You will work Mon to Fri, 37.5 hours per week, with a requirement for one half-day Saturday per month. This is an opportunity to contribute to a global logistics network and grow within a leading transport company.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an operational and customs role.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Advanced Excel skills are essential.
• Highly motivated with a positive attitude.
• Excellent organisational and time management ability.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels.
• Full driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Complete customs activities on behalf of customers, ensuring accuracy and AE0 standards.
• Communicate with multiple departments and customers; provide updates or escalation when required.
• Ensure all customs entries are completed accurately and on time by monitoring inbound vessels and arrivals.
• Prepare and submit clearances in advance to prevent delays and maintain shipment timelines.
• Provide timely confirmation of customs clearance to customers and freight forwarders; keep logs up to date.
• Maintain original documentation for audit purposes and ensure accessibility for customers.

Customs Specialist

Mercia Park

Mon to Fri 37.5 hours per week. (requirement for working half day 1 Saturday per month)

We are looking for a Customs Specialist to join our team in Mercia Park. The Customs Specialist is a key contributor in delivering accurate, efficient, and compliant customs services across the business. The role supports several company locations with day-to-day customs activity, ensuring that customer requirements are consistently met or exceeded.

What will you be doing?

• Complete customs activities on behalf of our customers, ensuring all activities are completed to AEO standard high level of accuracy.
• Communicate effectively with multiple departments and customers where required provide updates or escalation if required.
• Ensure all customs entries are completed accurately and on time by proactively monitoring incoming vessels based on expected arrival information provided by customers
• Prevent delays by preparing and submitting clearances in advance wherever possible, and by maintaining close oversight of shipment timelines.
• Provide timely confirmation of customs clearance to customers and freight forwarders. Keeping the inbound clearance log updated and accurate at all times
• To maintain appropriate recordkeeping standards, storing original documentation for audit purposes.
• To ensure all documents are available to customers to access and internal customs logs are always kept up to date
• To work with the Customs Team lead to ensure the monthly FSD is submitted on time for all customs warehouse activity carried out.
• To complete/create customer export declarations and where required accompanying T1 accurately
• To check/submit data in the Customs Warehouse Duty Management System ensuring accuracy.
