Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd in Yeovil is seeking a Customs Compliance Administrator to support import/export operations. You will file clearance instructions to brokers and ensure UK regulations are followed, with on-site presence three days a week.

The role requires data checks, handling export declarations, and collaboration with the Compliance Operations Manager. Familiarity with SAP S4/HANA and MS Office is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with business to issue correct clearance instructions to import agent/broker.
• Instruct freight agent/broker per business requirements.
• Check data to ensure import clearance information follows Leonardo instructions.
• Address anomalies with guidance from the Compliance Operations Manager.
• Notify business of import clearance conditions (special procedures or temporary admissions).
• Submit export declarations to HMRC in line with UK regulations and procedures.
• Make direct customs entries or instruct Declarants to ensure accuracy.
• Check customs entries after goods departure and address anomalies with the Manager.
• Identify corrective actions when errors are noted with the Manager.
• Provide general admin support to the site Import/Export Control team; prepare data packs for audits.
• Assist with preparing reports for submission to UK authorities (Deferment, bills of discharge, export licence transparency).
• Assist with processing and reconciling Freight Forwarder invoices where applicable.
