Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd seeks a Head of Customs Compliance, Helicopters to lead UK customs and export control across the Helicopters division from its Yeovil base, with on-site presence three days a week and flexible/home working. The role drives strategy, policy adherence, audits, and training, while coordinating with HMRC and internal stakeholders to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will partner with functions across the business, manage escalations, and steer the compliance

Qualifications

• Educated to a degree level, or hold a professional qualification, and at least 5 years’ demonstrable UK customs, licensing and audit experience.
• Knowledge of UK Export Control laws and regulations.
• Prior involvement in regulatory audits.
• Strong interpersonal/influencing skills to support decision-making based on credible knowledge of Customs and International Trade.
• Presentation skills to deliver training.
• Good all round computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Executes central UK Customs Compliance strategy.
• Leads business partnering within the Helicopters division and heads the operational steerco.
• Manage escalated queries from the customs function and HMRC discussions.
• Ensures customs activities adhere to UK regulations and internal policies.
• Implements the customs compliance roadmap for the division.
• Supports central customs audits and conducts internal checks.
• Delivers and facilitates customs training for divisional stakeholders.
