Job summary

TLP in Ipswich is seeking a Customs Clerk to join an award-winning international logistics team. You will manage import and export customs clearances, support clients, and ensure entries meet current customs and compliance requirements.

You’ll perform duties across multiple transport modes, prepare documents and licences, and liaise with HMRC and authorities. The role offers 9am-5:30pm, 25 days holiday, and a supportive environment to grow your customs career.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' hands-on customs experience.
• Experience with import/export and EU/EFTA movements.
• Knowledge of tariffs, Incoterms and customs compliance.

The Role

• Maintaining accurate records and completing internal compliance checks
• Working with HMRC and other customs authorities
• Supporting bonded and special/simplified customs procedures

About You

We're looking for someone with 2+ years' hands-on customs experience, ideally covering:

• Import and export customs
• EU/EFTA movements
• Tariffs and Incoterms
• Customs compliance and AEO procedures
• Additional customs documentation and declarations

You’ll also need good organisational and communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
