Job summary

HST Hiring Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service, repair and calibrate customers' equipment on-site across the region. You will install, commission and train users, ensuring traceable calibration and adherence to ISO procedures.

Job description

Field Service Engineer Job Purpose To provide servicing, repairs and calibrations for customers' food testing equipment, as required and in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications. Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide on-site servicing, repairs and calibration as required. Complete installations, commissioning and training where required. Ensure equipment is calibrated to traceable standards. Liaise with the Service Manager and Service Coordinator to prioritise and plan work schedules. Assist with in-house quality assurance, repairs and servicing for customer and company equipment and products. Assist with laboratory services, including sample testing and application development. Manage allocated stock of parts and consumables. Follow technical process procedures in line with ISO requirements and provide advice accordingly. Assist with technical support responses to customers. Ensure documentation is completed promptly and accurately. Adhere to all relevant customer site procedures.
• Complete customer visits in line with agreed schedules and procedures. Adhere to all company policies and procedures. Carry out any other relevant duties as required. Person Specification Essential Proven experience in a similar role. A relevant qualification in electronic and/or electro-mechanical systems. Good working knowledge of computing and software, including programming and debugging. Ability to work as part of a team and to plan and work on your own initiative. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to diagnose faults and solve problems. Good planning skills. Excellent customer interaction skills. Ability to manage your own time and workload. Ability to work under pressure. Full UK driving licence. Desirable HND qualification or above in engineering, electronics and/or software. Experience with PLC and SCADA/HMI systems.
• Dimensions of the Role Occasional visits abroad are required for customer visits and supplier training. Overnight stays average four per month.
• Working Conditions This is a field-based role involving regular customer visits, predominantly in the North of the UK, with coverage of the whole of the UK and Northern Ireland when required. A company vehicle is provided.
