Job summary

One Stop, a Tesco subsidiary, is seeking a Customer Service Assistant to join a fast-paced retail team in Taunton. You will help maintain store appearance, stock shelves, and process payments while delivering excellent customer service.

You will engage with customers, support various store areas, and follow training to ensure safety and policy compliance. Community events and a welcoming atmosphere are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Assist customers with purchases and inquiries to enhance shopping experience.
• Contribute to store appearance by stocking shelves and maintaining clean spaces.

Responsibilities

• Know your customers and serve them with passion and pride.
• Encourage feedback from customers via the 'have your say' survey.
• Work across store areas including tills, replenishment, online orders, vending and stock routines.
• Follow training to work safely and adhere to store policies.
• Participate in seasonal, community and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
• Be knowledgeable about store performance and your role in delivering profit.
• Clock in and out at shift start and end to ensure correct pay.
• Follow security procedures and wear PPE where available to keep everyone safe.
• Adhere to the Think 25 policy for age-restricted products when serving customers.
• Respond quickly to assistance calls on self-service checkouts and explain actions to customers.
• Keep aisles tidy and store area organized, avoiding congestion.
• Occasionally run the shift in absence of Shift Leader or Store Manager.
• Follow training to keep everyone safe and compliant.
• If there is a Post Office Local, perform daily post office operations and pass background checks.
