Job summary

Airbus is offering an extensive Customer Services Apprenticeship starting with a nine-month vocational foundation diploma. Afterward, you will join experts at Filton and work on real engineering tasks across Commercial Aircraft Programmes with rotations in multiple Customer Service departments.

This apprenticeship develops deep technical skills, industry certifications, and a pathway to a dynamic career in aerospace, with training and on-the-job experience that supports your professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduled Maintenance – define and establish the Airbus Maintenance Program in collaboration with Design Office, Customers and Aviation Authorities.
  • Service Bulletins Retrofit solutions – provide recommended, mandated and operator-requested in-service modifications.
  • Ground Support Equipment & Tooling – design, test, validate and support tooling and equipment for customer maintenance.
  • Technical Data – produce approved maintenance procedures and parts catalogue for ongoing airworthiness.
  • Spares Engineering – support major and daily repairs by resolving technical issues with procurement, production, logistics and quality.
  • Supplier Management – work with suppliers to obtain documentation supporting Airbus authoring lines and customer needs.

Customer Services is responsible for supporting the entire Airbus fleet through providing in-service solutions, maintenance requirements and procedures while ensuring continued airworthiness and safety of the flying fleet. You will be the face of Airbus in front of our customers providing support and assistance with technical queries and new solutions ensuring customer satisfaction with every interaction.

As a Customer Services Engineering Apprentice your journey begins with a nine-month vocational foundation diploma. Afterward, you'll join our experts at Filton, diving into real engineering work on our Commercial Aircraft Programmes. You'll be assigned to a department with incredible career potential, including:

  • Scheduled Maintenance - work with the Design Office, Customers and Aviation Authorities to define and establish the Airbus Maintenance Program;
  • Service Bulletins Retrofit solutions - provide recommended, mandated and operator requested in-service modifications;
  • Ground Support Equipment & Tooling - designing, testing, validating and supporting tooling and equipment, to assist customers with maintenance, repairs and the overall operability of the aircraft;
  • Technical Data - production of approved maintenance procedures and parts catalogue for the continued airworthiness of their aircraft operations;
  • Spares Engineering - providing support to major and daily repairs by resolving technical issues in coordination with procurement, production, logistics and quality;
  • Supplier Management - working closely with our suppliers to obtain the documentation needed to support our Airbus authoring lines and the customer directly.

In addition, to your work placements and studies, there are a number of excellent training opportunities open to you that cover a variety of subjects, as well as encouraging you to get involved in extracurricular education and community projects designed to broaden your experience and help you develop both your professional and personal skills along the way.

We empower our apprentices with significant placement flexibility. You'll not only gain deep technical expertise within your core area but also develop a diverse skill set through rotations in various Customer Service departments. This unique blend of academic study, on-the-job experience, and training ensures you're well-equipped for a successful and impactful career.

Requirements:

In order to be eligible to this apprenticeship, you must have a minimum of:

  • 112 UCAS points or above: 3 A Levels BBC or above which must include Maths at B or above AND Physics or Chemistry at C or above, with a further level/AS-Level/BTEC Diploma;

OR

  • BTEC Extended Diploma: Aeronautical Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing in Engineering, Construction and the Built Environment, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Engineering, Land-based Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Operations and Maintenance Engineering - minimum grade DMM or D (Advanced Manufacturing Engineering);

OR

  • T Levels – Minimum of Merit overall in Engineering and Manufacturing, additional qualification in Maths at Level 3 preferable but not essential;

AND

  • GCSE Maths and English (Language and Literature) – Minimum of Grade 5/B.

Important Information:

GRADES: If you are on predicted grades, your offer will be conditional to achieving the position’s requirements before the apprenticeship start date.
