Job summary

A global leader in sustainable packaging solutions is seeking a candidate to process customer orders and manage day-to-day account requirements. The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of customer service experience in a manufacturing environment, with strong organizational skills. You will be responsible for ensuring timely order processing and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. A good understanding of packaging processes and IT literacy are desirable. JOB PURPOSE :

To process the orders for key customer accounts as accurately as possible and also have the responsibility to ensure all jobs are checked according to the plan to ensure they can proceed into production without delay.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :
  • Manage the day-to-day order requirements and enquiries from a specific range of customers, achieving effective workload prioritising and the timely and accurate processing of customer orders to meet customer lead-times.
  • Establish and maintain customer specification files.
  • Understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures for order processing and customer communication.
  • Contribute to achieving individual account and departmental objectives.
  • Verify the application of correct customer prices to orders.
  • Processing orders
  • Assist in the updating of order information post-production, as part of the team responsibility to ensure the accuracy of product specifications.
  • Carrying out VWT checks along with making updates to VWT / jobs or estimating, that relate to any technical aspects of the order
  • Input ideas and help to implement specific projects including cost saving and margin improvement initiatives, within the appropriate area of influence.
  • Support team resource needs during holiday periods, showing flexibility to assist with other accounts.
  • Support colleagues in training and continuous improvement activities.
  • Stock allocation maintaining a last in first out process.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
  • Experience of a manufacturing environment.
  • Customer Service / account handling of c.2-3 years min.
  • Experience of networking across a multi-site organisation
  • Confident communication / presentation skills.
  • Team working experience.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Good knowledge of a packaging business / manufacturing process desirable.
  • IT literate to intermediate level on Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • UK driving license.
