Job summary

HSBC is seeking a Customer Intelligence Analyst for a 12-month fixed-term contract in London. The role focuses on transforming customer data into actionable insights and partnering across Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering to support strategic decisions.

The ideal candidate has experience in customer analytics and data analysis, strong SQL skills, and proficiency with BI tools (Tableau/Power BI/Looker). Excellent communication and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience within customer analytics, data analysis, or insight-driven roles, using data to influence decision‑making.
• Strong SQL capability and experience working with large, complex datasets.
• Experience using BI and visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to communicate insights effectively.
• Understanding of analytical techniques including segmentation, hypothesis testing, predictive modelling, or AI/advanced analytics tools.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Analyse customer data to identify trends, drivers, and opportunities related to customer growth, engagement, and experience.
• Develop and maintain customer datasets, metrics, dashboards, and reporting solutions that support enterprise decision-making.
• Partner with Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering teams to define data requirements, validate pipelines and improve data models.
• Apply analytical techniques such as segmentation, driver analysis, trend analysis, and AI-enabled analytics to deepen customer understanding.
• Translate complex analysis into clear narratives, visualisations, and actionable recommendations for stakeholders across the business.
