Job summary

IKEA Chester is hiring Store Assistants to join our Chester store team. You’ll help customers find solutions, assist with Bistro service, support click-and-collect, and keep the store looking its best.

The role offers flexible hours with start date in 2026 and an hourly rate of £13.45. Typical shifts include 12, 16, or 24 hours per week, with some weekend work and hours from 7am to 8:30pm. We value teamwork and a customer‑first mindset in a fast‑paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Able to multitask effectively, manage your own workload and work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Bring a strong customer-first mindset, enjoying varied daily tasks and making customers feel valued.
• Retail or customer service experience is helpful, but a proactive, hands‑on attitude is just as important.
• Confident using computers and technology to support day‑to‑day tasks.
• Highly organised and detail‑oriented, able to prioritise work and stay composed in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Adopt a flexible approach to working, being part of a store team to take responsibility for all areas of the small store.
• Interact with guests to promote products and ensure a memorable shopping experience.
• Support maximising sales by keeping areas clean, stocked, priced and well presented.
• Assist with stock handling and use pumps, trolleys, and manual handling when needed.
• Follow stock ordering processes to secure quality ingredients and maintain food safety.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed for customers and co‑workers.
