Job summary

Encord is seeking an exceptional Forward Deployed Engineer to join our product engineering team. This engineering-first role places you at the heart of complex client environments, designing and shipping production-grade code that integrates Encord into customers' data and ML pipelines.

As an early member of the Forward Deployed team, you’ll own system design decisions, work directly with client engineers, and help scale this critical function while shaping the product roadmap.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years in a software engineering role.
• Experience building data integrations and APIs; Python is a big plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity and take ownership.
• Prior startup experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship high-quality, production-grade code that integrates Encord into customers' data and ML pipelines.
• Own system design decisions for deployments, balancing correctness, scalability, and speed.
• Work directly with clients' engineering teams to diagnose problems and ship fixes end-to-end.
• Build data integrations and technical solutions that support onboarding and scale.
• Communicate technical plans and tradeoffs clearly to engineers and stakeholders.
• Operate autonomously, identifying problems and delivering solutions with minimal oversight.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to feed customer insights back into the roadmap.
• Help define and scale the Forward Deployed function as an early team member.
