Job summary

Wide and Wise is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work closely with customers, translating real-world workflows into production software. You will own features end-to-end, from discovery to deployment, shaping AI-powered solutions that deliver tangible outcomes.

Based in London, you will collaborate with a fast-moving, ambitious team to ship production software from day one, building frontend interfaces and robust backend services while integrating LLMs and AI agents into customer-facing

Qualifications

• Strong experience building production applications with TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks.
• Experience developing backend services using Python.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs, AI agents, or model-backed APIs into production environments.
• Strong product thinking with the ability to understand and simplify complex customer workflows.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with technical and non-technical customers.
• Ability to work independently in fast-moving environments with evolving requirements and a high level of ownership.

They are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer who thrives at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer collaboration. Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to understand their workflows and identify opportunities to build impactful solutions.
• Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end product features, from frontend interfaces to backend services and data models.
• Translate complex real-world processes into intuitive, production-ready software experiences.
• Build modern frontend applications using React, TypeScript, or equivalent technologies.
• Develop backend services and APIs using Python to support scalable business logic and workflows.
• Design and integrate AI-powered capabilities, including LLMs, agents, and model‑backed APIs, into customer‑facing products.
• Take full ownership of features from customer discovery and technical specification through deployment and iteration.
• Continuously improve user experience, system performance, and product quality while collaborating closely with customers and internal teams.

Nice to Have

• Founder or early‑stage startup experience.
• Experience in founder fellowship programs such as EF, YC, or Antler.
• Previous experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or similar customer‑facing engineering role.
• Experience building and launching AI‑powered products in production.
• Proven ability to thrive in highly ambiguous, rapidly evolving environments.
