Pay The Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 per hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.

It is Tesco policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week. If you prefer fewer hours, a minimum of 12 hours is available and still welcome to apply.

The schedule reflects the availability windows shown in the table. We will schedule your contracted hours with 3 weeks’ notice and can support flexibility if your availability is close to, but not exactly, the advertised times.

You will be responsible for

Delivering your part of the customer shopping trip by:

• Keeping the van and trays clean, tidy, and organised
• Leaving the back yard clean and picking up litter as observed
• Washing trays as part of the tray wash process
• Loading the van, checking van roadworthiness
• Discussing order changes with customers, handling substitutions, and offering refunds where appropriate
• Managing products/deliveries with care
• Explaining substitutions to customers and ensuring no extra charge
• Delivering within the customer’s time slot
• Calling the customer before arriving if early
• Calling the store if running 30 minutes or more late

You will need

• Build relationships with colleagues to foster team spirit
• Warm, welcoming interactions with customers and colleagues
• Ability to adapt to changing customer needs and store conditions
• Energetic, driven to deliver beyond expectations and balance home/work life
• Share ideas with your Manager to improve the store for customers
• Valid UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points
