LET'S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT

At Severn Trent, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We're in the top 5% of utility companies worldwide for employee engagement, and we're equally proud of our strong Glassdoor score, reflecting just how much our people love working here. Join us to make a positive impact on the environment and our communities, while being valued and supported in a truly inclusive workplace. If you want to do more, because you care, we want you on our team.

LET'S TELL YOU MORE

We have an exciting opportunity to join our incredible team, here in Derby, as a Part-Time Customer Advisor. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a role that fits around other commitments whilst still building a rewarding career with one of the UK's most trusted water companies. Working Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm, you'll help customers when they need us most, providing support, reassurance and solutions that genuinely improve their experience. Whether you're returning to work, looking for greater flexibility, or simply want a role where you can make a positive impact every day, this could be the perfect opportunity to join Team Severn Trent. You'll chat to customers over the phone and via email whilst being given the freedom to help them in a way you would like to be helped. You'll take ownership of their needs and find a way, no matter what, to figure things out with them. We want great people who do more because we care. Your colleagues will be some of the most amazing people you'll be lucky enough to call friends. They're an enthusiastic, determined, curious crew who love making waves in the water industry and share our mission to humanise customer experiences and make them amazingly brilliant. We don't lie, it's not easy. Learning in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment isn't for the faint-hearted. Every day you'll come across challenges you've not seen before, and you'll be empowered to help find solutions. So expect the unexpected. Ask questions, drive change and share your ideas. There's a lot (and we mean a lot) to learn and a lot of rewarding work to do. Just when you think you know everything there is to know, something changes. But don't worry, we'll help you build your knowledge and be committed to your development every step of the way. And when it comes to skills and experience, don't get too hung up on that. We're looking for people with the right character, positivity and caring attitude. We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality because diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us learn, grow and better serve our communities. You'll be based at our Pride Park site in Derby and work within a dedicated team of 12 where you'll quickly build strong relationships and a real team spirit. This role is perfect for anyone looking for greater flexibility whilst still being part of something meaningful. Working Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 2:00pm, you'll enjoy a schedule that can fit around family life, caring responsibilities, studies or other commitments, whilst still giving you the opportunity to make a real difference for our customers every single day. We are currently recruiting for you to start with us on Monday 2nd November 2026. Where you will then go through a 5 week training programme (Mon-Fri 10am-2pm). This training will give you all the tools, knowledge and confidence you need to thrive in your new role.

How We Work

You'll join a caring culture that collaborates to achieve, grow and develop. Our employee engagement scores are among the highest globally in energy and utilities. That's why we value in-person moments that keep our culture alive, and why for this role you'll usually find us in the office during working hours. Although this is a part-time opportunity, you'll be every bit as much a part of Team Severn Trent. You'll work closely with your colleagues, celebrate successes together and play an important role in helping us deliver brilliant service to our customers.

What We're Looking For

As we've said, you'll be talking to our customers over the phone and via email, resolving their queries and engaging with other teams where needed. You'll be a team player because nobody wins unless we all win. We'll be looking for you to think on your feet in a fast-paced environment and have the confidence to be empowered and make your own decisions. If something is getting in the way of us delivering great customer service, we want you to help us change it. You'll be committed to owning customer queries from start to finish, ensuring every customer receives the support they need. Skills and experience are important, but character, positivity and a caring attitude matter just as much. We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality because diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us learn and better serve our communities. We seek people who get involved, want to be part of something bigger and make a difference because they care.

How We'll Reward And Care For You In Return
