Job summary

Severn Trent Services, the commercial arm of Severn Trent Group, is recruiting an Infrastructure Services Operative to cover the Yorkshire area. You will be part of a two-man team, installing and maintaining water pipes and fittings on customer sites, with work starting from home and daily regional travel.

There is a focus on safety, quality and customer service, with full UK driving licence required and opportunities for training and development within the Academy.

  • Daily travel across the allocated region is required.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Install/repair/maintain water pipes and fittings per Work Order and job pack to quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain expertise to install/repair/maintain a range of mains, services and equipment.
  • Keep the vehicle tidy and report faults to the line manager.
  • Make material judgments to balance safe repairs with cost efficiency and feed back to Head Office daily.
  • Provide high level customer service to meet expectations for quality service.
  • Participate in 24-hour reactive standby to support service delivery.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

As aInfrastructure Services Operative, you will be installing and maintaining water pipes and the associated fittings on our customer’s sites. You will be a part of a two-man team and complete the work up to the highest quality and health and safety standards.

In this role you will be able to start work from home and travel across your allocated region on a daily basis.

Some of your key accountabilities will be:

  • Install / repair and maintain water pipes and associated fittings as per Work Order instruction / job pack meeting relevant quality and productivity standards.
  • Maintain level of professional expertise to ensure ability is held to install/repair/maintain a wide range of makes, types and complexities of water mains, services and associated equipment.
  • To maintain a tidy vehicle both internally and externally and report any faults to relevant line manager.
  • Exercise judgments on materials used to ensure the appropriate and safe repair is balanced with the requirement to maximize cost effectiveness. Provide full feedback on work undertaken to Head Office daily.
  • Provide high level of customer service to maintain customer expectations of quality service provision.
  • Participate in ’24 hour reactive standby rotato assist company in maintaining service provision to its customers.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

Whilst there are no formal qualifications required for this role, we’re looking for people who are keen to learn about water mains servicing, water fitting installation and repair. It would be helpful if you had some knowledge of Health and Safety and risk assessments.

However, as the role requires daily travel, a full UK driving licence is an absolute necessity.
