Job summary

B&Q Chippenham is hiring a Customer Advisor on a part-time 15-hour per week basis for a 3-month fixed-term contract. You’ll become an expert advisor, helping customers with home improvement needs, supporting stock roles, setting up displays and keeping the store looking great.

Shifts include weekends and evenings (7:00am–10:00pm). Training in paint-mixing and timber cutting is available; main goal is delivering excellent customer service. Notional hourly rate is £13.10.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or customer service is desirable.
• Able to work as part of a team and on a rota including weekends/evenings.
• Willing to learn new skills like paint-mixing and timber cutting.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with purchases and inquiries to help them find what they need.
• Manage stock, restock shelves and set up in-store displays to keep the store looking great.
• Provide friendly, helpful service and learn additional product knowledge as required.

What's the job?

Join our team, and you'll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as will things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You'll have the opportunity to be trained in paint-mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you'll be right at home with us. You're friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You'll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You're great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
