Job summary

B&Q Workington is hiring a Customer Advisor on a part-time basis (20 hours per week) with a permanent contract. Shifts run Monday to Sunday, 7.00am to 10.00pm, giving you a flexible rota and the chance to help customers in-store.

You’ll be an expert advisor, helping customers, handling stock, setting up displays and keeping the store looking great. Training may include paint-mixing and timber cutting, but great customer service is the aim.

Qualifications

• Friendly and outgoing, you enjoy helping others.
• Willing to learn new technology and adapt to a rota.
• Team player with flexible weekend/evening/bank holiday availability.

Responsibilities

• Sales will be important, as will managing stock and setting up displays.
• Keep the store looking great and welcoming for customers.
• Learn paint-mixing and timber cutting where offered, while delivering great customer service.

What's the job?

Join our team, and you’ll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as will things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You’ll have the opportunity to be trained in paint-mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

What we need:

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you’ll be right at home with us. You’re friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You’ll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You’re great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
