Job summary

Change Grow Live in London is recruiting for a Custody Inreach Recovery Coordinator to engage detainees, promote access to interventions, and liaise with custody staff for referrals.

The role focuses on referral pathways, harm reduction, and ensuring seamless transition to community services, with a focus on reducing reoffending and improving outcomes for service users.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience in a related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with good IT skills.
• Knowledge of effective interventions to address and reduce reoffending.
• Experience of working in a police custody environment.

Responsibilities

• Undertake cell sweeps and liaise with custody staff to promote the service and complete referrals.
• Provide interventions to people identified as substance users and advocate for the service user.
• Participate in follow-up support for recently discharged service users.
• Work with the team to identify people with custody history and support them to reduce reoffending.
• Provide brief interventions including harm minimisation and overdose advice in custody, especially where engagement is limited.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Custody Inreach Recovery Coordinator who has the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs.

You will have some experience of engaging with individuals with multiple and/or complex needs and demonstrate a determined approach to finding solutions.

Location: CamdenHours: Full Time, 37.5 hrs per week

Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

About the role:

• Undertake cell sweeps and liaise with custody staff throughout the shift to speak to detainees, to promote the service and complete referrals
• Provide interventions to people identified as substance users and be the navigator for these interventions, advocating on behalf of the service user.
• Participate with follow up support for those service users recently discharged from the custody suite
• Work as part of a team to identify people who have a history of custody suite admission and support them to improve their lives and reduce reoffending.
• Provide brief interventions including harm minimisation and overdose advice for those in custody, particularly where there is ambivalence about engaging with community services.
• Work with local providers to ensure the provision of Naloxone is promoted and accessible for those seen in custody, either at the point of release or by accessing their local community service.

About you:

• Have a strong understandingof substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field
• Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and writtenwith good IT skills
• Knowledge of effective intervention to address andreduce repeat reoffending.
• Experience of working in a police custodyenvironment.
• Have a good working knowledgeof mental health interventions,services,and good practice
• Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
• Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards
• Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professionalknowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others

Salary Range (pro rata if part time)

CGL points 23 to 28 (£28,557.79 - £32,802.41)
