Job summary

Ingeus is recruiting a Custody Facilitator at HMP Ranby to deliver courses, support participants on their journey toward release, and work with Support Workers and Peer Mentors to provide a comprehensive rehabilitation package.

You will operate in a challenging environment with individuals who may have complex needs, but making a real difference can be life-changing for them and for you.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering engaging training/facilitation sessions.
• Ability to engage, motivate, persuade and listen—building strong connections with those you support.
• Safeguarding awareness with ability to identify risks and respond appropriately.
• Meticulous record-keeping and IT/admin skills.

Responsibilities

• Group Facilitation: deliver sessions to groups on topics like goal setting and social interaction.
• Relationship Building: foster safe, non-judgemental connections to support personal growth.
• 121 Support: set and review goals with individuals and record progress.
• Caseload management: balance needs of multiple participants with admin duties.
• Quality Recording: maintain up-to-date records of work in our IT system.

About the Role:

You’ll work within the prison delivering courses to groups of participants to support them on their journey towards release, they are designed to be short, sharp and impactful so your ability to quickly build positive connections will be an important part of the role. You will work with Support Workers and Peer Mentors to deliver a comprehensive support package during their sentence recall - as a key member of this dedicated team, you’ll help individuals overcome barriers, build confidence, and take meaningful steps toward rehabilitation.

This is a demanding yet deeply rewarding role. You'll be working in a challenging environment with individuals who have complex needs and may be hesitant to engage. However, when you help someone break the cycle and take real steps toward transforming their life, the impact is truly life-changing—for them and for you.

WhatYou'llBe Doing:

• Group Facilitation You will be delivering sessions to groups of participants on a variety of topics such as goal setting, social interaction and positive decision making.
• Relationship Building: Foster genuine, trusting, and non-judgemental relationships with participants, creating a safe space for personal growth.
• 121 Support: You will also be working 121 with participants setting and reviewing goals while ensuring accurate and timely recording.
• Caseload management: You'llmanage multiple individuals, balancing their needs while keeping up with all the related admin.
• Quality Recording: Keep thorough, up-to-date records of all your work on our IT system, ensuring progress is properly tracked.

What We are Looking For:

• Training/Facilitation experience: You will have the ability and confidence to deliver engaging sessions
• Communication Skills: You’ll have the ability to engage, motivate, persuade, and listen—building strong connections with those you support.
• Safeguarding awareness: You are supporting complex individuals at a challenging time in their lives and will need to be able to identify any safeguarding risks. You will be fully supported following any challenging interventions.
• IT and Administrative skills: Keeping meticulous records of every interaction to measure client progress and ensure effective interventions.
