Job summary

Ingeus is a leading human services provider focused on enabling individuals in custody to progress toward employment and training opportunities. The Custody Careers Advisor will deliver tailored information, advice and guidance to prisoners, developing learning plans and supporting reintegration on release.

You will run one-to-one sessions and group workshops, building learning plans, and connecting prisoners with employers and education opportunities within a custodial setting.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering guidance, support or advisory services to individuals.
• Ability to assess individual needs and develop action plans to support progression.
• Experience of managing a caseload and working towards agreed targets or outcomes.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage, motivate and influence a diverse range of individuals.
• Experience of working with individuals facing barriers to employment or education.
• Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands.
• Hold a Level 3 or Level 4 Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) qualification, or be willing to work towards this.

Responsibilities

• Caseload management: conduct one-to-one assessments and develop a Prisoner Learning Plan (PLP) and manage caseload to achieve outcomes.
• Facilitation: deliver engaging sessions to groups on employability skills and career planning.
• Relationship Building: foster genuine, trusting relationships with participants and create a safe space.
• Stakeholder management: engage with prison education departments, training providers, employers and probation services to create employment pathways.
• Quality Recording: work towards KPIs and quality assurance standards.
