Job summary

Ingeus is seeking an experienced Custody Careers Information Advice and Guidance Advisor to support prisoners inside custody with tailored career guidance, learning plans, and preparation for release. You will carry a caseload and deliver one-to-one sessions and group workshops to help individuals identify skills and employment opportunities.

The role focuses on rehabilitation, working with education providers, employers, and probation services to create pathways into training and employment,

Qualifications

• Experience delivering guidance, support or advisory services to individuals.
• Ability to assess individual needs and develop action plans to support progression.
• Experience of managing a caseload and working towards agreed targets or outcomes.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage, motivate and influence a diverse range of individuals.
• Experience of working with individuals facing barriers to employment or education.
• Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands.
• Hold a Level 3 or Level 4 Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) qualification, or be willing to work towards this.

Responsibilities

• Caseload management: conduct assessments and develop a Prisoner Learning Plan to achieve sustained outcomes.
• Facilitation: deliver engaging sessions on employability skills and career planning.
• Relationship Building: foster trusting, non-judgemental relationships with participants.
• Stakeholder management: engage with providers, employers and probation services to create pathways.
• Quality Recording: work towards KPIs and ensure quality assurance standards are met.
