Job summary

Novus is hiring a Curriculum Manager at HMP Oakwood to lead curriculum development and innovative educational programs within a prison setting. You will drive strategies to engage learners, improve outcomes, and prepare inmates for successful reintegration.

The role is permanent, full-time (37 hours per week) and part of the LTE Group, with Ofsted rating Good and strong pension and wellbeing benefits.

We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Oakwood, working as a Curriculum Manager. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.

Site Information

HMP Oakwood is a Category C men's prison located in Featherstone, Staffordshire. It is one of the largest and most modern prisons in the United Kingdom. The team aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe, and where causes of prison stress are minimised. The prison's mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

• Teaching qualification - minimum Cert Ed or PGCE
• Degree or equivalent (including equivalent life / career experience)
• Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
• Implementing continuous quality assurance procedures
• Successful partnership working
• Effective Communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to motivate and enthuse teams
• Organisational skills to prioritise workload to meet challenging deadlines and targets
• Analysing trends and identifying impact on curriculum
• IT Skills
• Have responsibility for Induction, LDD and Higher Learning provision.
