Job summary

Sandwell College is seeking a Curriculum Lead for Computing and Digital on a full-time, permanent basis. The role provides strategic and operational leadership across the Computing and Digital curriculum area, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning and assessment that enables learners to achieve strong outcomes.

You will work with the Head of Curriculum and College colleagues to drive curriculum design, staff development and learner progression, including UCAS guidance and engagement with

Qualifications

• Degree and/or professional qualification relevant to Computing and Digital.
• Certificate in Education or Level 5 Teaching Qualification.
• An outstanding teaching practitioner with excellent achievement rates.
• Proven experience of planning and developing the student learning experience.
• The ability to analyse data, track learners and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Experience of post-16 education, including A Levels and vocational qualifications would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and support to curriculum teams, promoting high standards and innovation
• Promote high standards of teaching, learning and assessment across the curriculum area
• Advise on curriculum design, unit selection and the development of schemes of work
• Monitor learner progress and use data effectively to drive improvement
• Support the delivery of high-quality study programmes, including English and Maths resits
• Lead and prepare the curriculum area for internal and external quality reviews, inspections and awarding-body visits
• Liaise with awarding bodies and external verifiers
• Work closely with the examinations team to ensure effective processes within the designated area
• Support learner progression, including UCAS applications and information, advice and guidance
• Contribute to learner recruitment, induction, Open Days, school liaison and marketing events
• Identify opportunities to expand and develop Computing and Digital provision in response to learner demand and industry requirements
• Contribute to curriculum planning, timetabling, staffing and resource allocation
• Promote the effective use of technology and digital tools to enhance learning
