We are OnFife and as Fife’s largest cultural organisation we specialise in making jaws drop, hearts warm, eyes light up and imaginations run wild. We work with a huge range of partners, artists and creatives and our spaces are some of Fife’s favourite places. An ambitious leadership-oriented charity, we’re built on strong values, and those values make us who we are – Fearless, Inviting, Fair and Exciting.

We’re a real Living Wage employer, and we offer a local government pension scheme, generous holiday allowance and flexible working opportunities. If you need to travel for work, we can provide pool cars if you’re near head office or pay travel expenses, so you are not out of pocket! Along with this, you can also access discounted gym/swim memberships and other employee benefits.

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Curator (Collections) to join our Collections Team. This is a fixed term, part-time post (14.4 hours a week) until the end of December 2025.

OnFife cares for over 110,000 artworks, artefacts, objects and specimens. These collections form a major part of the social and cultural heritage of Fife and includes material of local, national and international significance.

As Curator (Collections) you will play an essential role in a collections storage project across the OnFife Collections Centre and other museum venues. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with excellent organisational and project management skills, with a strong track record in collections care and documentation specifically focusing on object handling, movement and storage. You will also have responsibility for supervising Collections Support Assistants and external contractors such as technicians and art handlers.

About You

This position would suit someone with experience or expertise particularly in exhibition installation or decant of artefacts. While based out of the Lodge at Kirkcaldy Galleries, you will be expected to travel to work at our other venues across Fife.
