DMPonline is a service that enables researchers to create and maintain data management plans for their research, aligning with funder, institutional, and disciplinary expectations. It is freely available for researchers, with the Digital Curation Centre (DCC) supporting the system through service sales to institutions, funders, and national consortia. Currently, DMPonline serves 61 customers and over 60,000 users, experiencing a steady growth rate of 20% annually.
The platform is built on an open-source codebase, primarily contributed to by the DCC and the DMPTool team at UC3. The role involves leading software development using the Ruby on Rails framework, including maintenance, bug fixing, and developing new features for specific clients and projects. It also involves strategic planning for the platform's future.
You will be part of a team focused on DMPonline, which comprises developers, infrastructure specialists, business development staff, user liaison, and service management roles. The team collaborates with other parts of the DCC's work, such as research projects, events, consultancy, and training.
