  • Opportunity to join Europe's largest privately-owned IT Company
Role Purpose

The CTO plays a pivotal part in identifying and establishing relationships with the most senior and influential people within our existing and prospective customers. They are experts in networking and brokering relationships with senior stakeholders to qualify and unpack the customers strategic vision and the opportunity for SCC’s propositions to deliver that vision.

The CTO will build knowledge and trust within the customer C-suite leveraging SCCs credibility and capability enabling them to help shape requirements and inform the Sales team regarding risks, propensity to buy, budget, competitive landscape and ultimately the likelihood of success.

At the highest level the objective of the CTO is to ‘Win the Customer’ giving our account and pre-sales teams the best possible position to succeed in meeting customers strategic aims by winning and delivering opportunities created.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with Sales management across selected customers to agree a measurable strategy for growing our network across key C-suite decision makers and budget holders who are either known or are new to targets for SCC. Supporting the Account Manager/BDE in the qualification of opportunities to ensure the right fit SCC proposition for the customer.
  • Leverage account planning to determine a route to engage with new stakeholders and/or customers. Enacting the plan by drawing on specific networks, experience, market data and targeted intent marketing to demonstrate SCC proposition capability and credibility.
  • Create a qualified view of the customer, assess our ability to achieve our Account Plan aspirations and propensity to win within the account. Where we establish the relevant relationships provide insight into accuracy and update Account Plans with relevant information regarding opportunity value, competition, , risks, budget and key dates.
  • Forge relationships with the customers decision and budget holders (C-suite), discover and unpack the customer need (problem/challenge/budget/competitors) and earn the position of trusted advisor, leveraging these relationships to help shape and inform customer requirements, putting SCC on the front foot to win opportunities presented.
  • Understand the natural point to introduce the wider SCC specialists to drive the conversation through to opportunity closure.
  • Continue to nurture the relationships established, ensuring the customer continues to recognise the value of their relationship with SCC and enable early sight of potential expansion of SCC opportunity.
  • Perform due diligence supporting your recommending that SCC pursue opportunities within the customer that we are in the best position to win, or flag where we are unlikely to win and why.
  • Provide insight back into the business on how SCC, its services and propositions are being received by our senior customer stakeholders, influencing continual proposition improvement/evolution.
  • Ensure that CRM is kept up to date with key conversations, outcomes and relationship data to avoid the organisation appearing siloed to the customer.
Skills And Experience
  • Good active listening skills. The ability to understand the business context and translate that into opportunity for SCC without necessarily talking technical solution or being perceived as selling.
  • Ability to quickly establish relationships and trust with existing and new stakeholders, being able to sustain those relationships and read intent towards SCC from those to inform the business.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enable quick action and articulation of the customer and the triggers which will ensure that SCC are successful in winning identified and qualified opportunities.
  • In-depth knowledge of the IT Services market, the challenges facing businesses and the ability to translate that into a win or loss qualification for the business.
  • Strategic thinker, professionally curious with a desire to continually learn and develop their knowledge, experience and approach to building and sustaining customer relationships.
  • Self-motivated with a track record of challenging themselves to adapt to different customer personalities and leverage this experience to demonstrate depth of capability and knowledge.
  • The ability to determine when to walk away or propose a step back if the customer is not engaging in a structured capacity that will enable SCC to secure opportunities.
  • The ability to act with authority during internal and customer discussions without displaying ego or lose respect/trust from the audience.
