Job summary

Azamara is seeking several experienced Engine Repairmen for a short-term Dry Dock Riding Team on board the AZAMARA QUEST. This contract role covers engine maintenance and repair tasks during the vessel's dry dock, with a 1-month assignment starting around embarkation date.

The position requires STCW and ASE certifications, experience with engines, and the ability to work in safe, confined spaces at sea; English fluency is essential, and Schengen visa provision may be required before embarkation.

Qualifications

• Valid STCW 95 certification.
• Experience with stripping engines down and rebuilding.
• Good knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, operation and maintenance of vessel machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Experience on vessels in an equivalent position.
• Physically and medically fit.
• Moral integrity is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs major and specialised mechanical overhaul and repair work to determine the need for further repairs or adjustments.
• Repairs and maintains hydraulic equipment and valves.
• Prevents spares and tools from being damaged due to poor handling.
• Provides installation and breakdown services.
• To be part of the technical loading team during intake of provisions.
• To provide technical assistance during the ship’s tendering operations.
• Assists with general maintenance (to include but not limited to the following): Cleaning, Painting, Repairs.
• Keeps the Chief Engineer, Staff Engineer and duty Engineer promptly and fully informed of all problems and deficiencies found in machinery or equipment.
• Must be competent in using the internal communications systems and have good knowledge of the engine room alarms.
• Responsible for informing the on-duty Engineer whenever leaving the engine room to perform duties elsewhere.
• Keeps supervisors fully informed of progress and any defects or problems.
• Responsible for keeping the engine room and all other machinery areas clean, along with all parts and tools used.
• Accountable for ensuring that Company, Public Health, National and International standards are maintained and reporting to the Staff Engineer any non-compliances.
• Observes and enforces uniform and grooming standards according to Company policies.
• Ensures that other team members are informed and updated on occurrences during watch.
• Practices good people management and proper conduct within the Engine department.
• General engine room and all other duties as assigned by supervisors.
