Job summary

Marella Cruises seeks an experienced Engine Fitter to join the vessel MARELLA EXPLORER 2. You will perform daily maintenance of engines and mechanical equipment under the direction of the Engineer in charge.

This contract is for 4 months (+/-1). Candidates must hold STCW 95, ASE A-III/5, and be able to work in English aboard with strong references. Physical fitness and ability to live in close quarters are required.

Qualifications

• Valid STCW 95 certification.
• ASE Certification A-III/5.
• Knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and vessel machinery operation/maintenance.
• Experience stripping engines down and rebuilding.
• Experience on vessels in an equivalent position.
• Physically and medically fit.
• Moral integrity required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily maintenance and cleaning of engines and mechanical equipment as directed by the Engineer in charge.
• Perform major mechanical overhaul and repair work to determine repairs or adjustments.
• Maintain engine room cleanliness and safety, including tools and equipment.
• Provide technical assistance during ship operations and berthing.
• Keep supervisors informed of progress and any defects found.
