Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust in Basildon Hospital currently seeks a Catering Assistant for our busy restaurant. The role is cross-site with Orsett Hospital, offering 37.5 hours per week across shifts from 07:00 to 20:30, including weekends and bank holidays.

You will carry out basic food preparation, ensure correct portioning and presentation, serve meals, and help improve patient, visitor and staff dining experience. A full driving licence is required for cross-site duties.

Qualifications

• Good level of general education including English and Maths GCSE.
• Level 2 food safety award.

Responsibilities

• Basic food preparation, including packing, labelling, displaying and chilling of sandwiches and other food products.
• Serving meals within the agreed standards for portion control and presentation.
• Improve our patients, visitors and staff experience through good food and friendly attitude
• Cross-site duties requiring a full driving licence.
