Shift Engineer - Client Direct - Critical Data Centre - Essex - £53,700 + Bonus

A fantastic opportunity to work in-house at a critical data centre situated in Essex. They are looking for a Shift Engineer to join the fast-growing Data Centre industry. The successful candidate will be electrically biased with extensive building maintenance experience, ideally within a critical environment. The role is based in a critical data centre in Essex. In return, the company offers a competitive salary of £53,700 plus a 10% bonus.

Key duties & responsibilities

• Ensure that Planned Preventative Maintenance & Reactive maintenance are carried out on all client assets through operation of the Planned Preventative Maintenance System.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records related to Health & Safety, Building Compliance, and Quality Assurance.
• Plan, manage, and implement the delivery of Facilities Maintenance services to the Data Centre, ensuring operational performance is maintained to the highest standards.
• Ensure subcontractors perform according to contract requirements. Administer subcontractor work approvals and ensure safe operation during repairs or services on site.
• Promptly remedy plant faults and defects to keep plant in serviceable condition.
• Ensure availability of suitable spares for maintenance of plant.
• Complete comprehensive maintenance records, such as job sheets.
• Prepare, review, and utilize Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks (PPM & reactive) to ensure safe working practices.
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently, utilizing shift engineers to ensure proper completion.

Hours of work

• Continentally rotating days & nights shift
• 4 days on, 6 off, 4 nights on, 4 off, 3 nights on, 3 days off, 4 off
• 07:00 - 19:00, 19:00 - 07:00
