Job summary

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a motivated healthcare technician/clinical support worker to join the Critical Care Team as a Band 3 Technician/CSW. You will provide essential technical support in assessment and management of critically ill patients on a 14-bed unit with Level 3, 2, and 1 care areas.

Qualifications

• Essential: GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4 or Functional Skills for English/Maths
• Desirable: 5 GCSE grade 4 or C and above or equivalent
• Essential: Ability to work under instruction from a Registered Professional without direct supervision

Responsibilities

• Performing essential safety checks within the department
• Supporting the distribution of essential stores and supplies and stock management
• Prepare and decontaminate specialist Critical Care equipment
• Assist with manual handling of complex patients and aid therapies team with interventions
• Provide technical support in the assessment and management of Critical Care patients
• Undertake cannulation, venepuncture, arterial sampling, ECGs, catheterisation as directed
• Contribute to accurate and contemporaneous documentation (care plans, diaries, observations)
• Ensure up-to-date competence with Trust mandatory training
