The role supports professionals with assessments, care plans, and interventions, via phone, virtual contact, or on scene, to reduce A&E conveyance and S136 use.

You will drive the team vehicle to scenes, support carers, and help with administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations. Shifts cover long day hours across seven days.

Qualifications

  • Experience in mental health services and willingness to develop skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Awareness of factors affecting safety and service user experience.
  • Understanding of risks impacting emergency service colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the mental health vehicle to locations in crisis.
  • Provide face-to-face and telephone support to Police, Paramedics and other Service Partners.
  • Accurately record messages and conversations.
  • Support carers and loved ones at scene enabling clinician focus on assessment.
  • Assist Rapid Response Practitioner with administrative tasks including data entry.
  • Contribute to improving access to supportive services for persons in mental health crisis.
