Job Description:

The Role: This is an exciting time to join ION where you will be joining a specialist team. As a crisis manager, you will be responsible for building and operating the crisis management programme across the ION Markets group. The successful candidate will have a track record in designing, building, and managing crisis management frameworks alongside exercise capabilities. Ideally from a financial services background, the candidate should have practical experience in managing crises from multiple disciplines and possess a strong technical background or knowledge. They will also conduct impact monitoring and analysis for incident management. The role will be part of the Operational Resilience function and contribute to broader resilience initiatives led by the Head of Operational Resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead crisis and issues management for ION Markets during high-profile issues.
  2. Develop proactive strategies to mitigate threats, including monitoring, reporting, and scenario planning.
  3. Produce regular crisis risk reports with data-driven insights for leadership.
  4. Be on-call to handle crisis situations as they arise.
  5. Create action plans, post-incident reviews, and conduct exercises.
  6. Support development of strategies to mitigate company-wide risks during incidents.
  7. Create decision-making frameworks for crisis situations.
  8. Utilize software tools for managing exercises and crises.
  9. Educate the Executive Leadership Team on crisis management principles and plans.
  10. Participate in horizon scanning, scenario planning, and strategic risk analysis.
  11. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and develop escalation frameworks across IT, BCP, communication, and vendor management.
  12. Oversee crisis management plan reviews and framework development.

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  1. Experience in incident and crisis management.
  2. Experience advising and managing issues in large, multinational organizations.
  3. Experience handling technical and social media-driven crises.
  4. Proficiency with analytics tools for crisis management.
  5. Proven ability to develop and implement risk management frameworks.
  6. Ability to identify and influence future risks and regulatory issues.
  7. Experience designing complex crisis exercises at all management levels.
  8. Strong strategic thinking skills with attention to detail.
  9. Experience working with legal teams.
  10. Experience engaging with stakeholders across different regions.
  11. Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  12. Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
