My Key Recruitment is partnering with a growing business in Edgbaston, Birmingham, to recruit an experienced Credit Controller on a permanent, part-time basis.

You will own a workload, chase overdue payments by phone and email, and build professional relationships with clients while aiming to meet monthly collection targets. The role offers scope to develop as the company expands and rewards performance with commission.

Qualifications

• Experience as Credit Controller or in a similar role.
• Proven ability to collect payments and manage accounts.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of outstanding accounts from instruction to resolution.
• Proactively contact customers regarding overdue balances.
• Follow up payments via telephone, email and SMS.
• Prepare and issue payment and credit control correspondence.
• Negotiating repayment arrangements where appropriate.
• Liaise with clients on payment plans and progress.
• Monitor agreed arrangements and follow up missed payments.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and account progression.
• Identify disputes delaying payment and resolve where possible.
• Support improvements to internal credit control processes as the business grows.

The Opportunity

My Key Recruitment is working with a growing and commercially focused business in Edgbaston to recruit an experienced Credit Controller to join their team on a permanent, part-time basis.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their workload, is confident speaking with customers regarding outstanding payments and knows how to achieve results while maintaining positive and professional relationships.

What You'll Be Doing

• Taking ownership of outstanding accounts from initial instruction through to resolution
• Proactively contacting customers regarding overdue balances
• Following up outstanding payments via telephone, email and SMS
• Preparing and issuing payment and credit control correspondence
• Negotiating realistic repayment arrangements where appropriate
• Liaising with clients regarding proposed payment plans and account progression
• Monitoring agreed payment arrangements and following up missed payments
• Maintaining accurate and detailed records within the CRM system
• Ensuring accounts are progressed consistently and effectively
• Identifying potential issues or disputes that may delay payment
• Working towards monthly collection and recovery targets
• Supporting improvements to internal credit control processes as the business grows

What We're Looking For

• Confident chasing outstanding payments by telephone and email
• Comfortable discussing overdue accounts and payment arrangements
• A strong communicator and negotiator
• Professional when dealing with challenging conversations
• Highly organised and able to manage multiple accounts
• Confident using CRM or finance systems - HubSpot experience would be advantageous
• Accurate with strong attention to detail
• Self-motivated and comfortable managing your own workload
• Commercially minded and focused on achieving results
