Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting an experienced Credit Controller to join our finance team in Blackburn. The role is full-time and permanent, with hybrid working—3 days in the office and 2 days from home after probation.

You will own a high-volume portfolio, chase overdue payments, and maintain client relationships while collaborating with Sales, Operations and Customer Service to resolve queries and keep ledgers accurate.

Qualifications

• Proven credit control experience in high-volume ledger environments.
• Excellent communication and dispute-resolution skills.
• Strong Excel skills with attention to detail.
• Able to prioritise workload and maximise cash collection.
• Experience with SAP B1 is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Own a high-volume portfolio and manage end-to-end credit control and collections.
• Pursue overdue payments via phone and email, negotiating plans per policy.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations and Customer Service to resolve queries.
• Process and allocate payments to keep ledgers accurate.
• Maintain records of all credit control activity and communications.
• Produce aged debtor reports and monitor portfolio performance.
• Attend debtor meetings and escalate as needed to secure payment.
• Support Team Leader on escalated accounts and wider projects.
