Job summary

InPost UK is seeking a Credit Controller to join its Edinburgh-based Transactional Finance team. You will manage your own portfolio of Newstrade and Parcels customer accounts, taking ownership of cash collection and resolving disputes in a fast-paced environment.

Based in Edinburgh with hybrid working (3 days in the office), the role offers Monday-Friday, 36.25 hours per week, and a salary of £26,100 per annum.

Qualifications

• Experience in credit control or accounts receivable in a finance role.
• Experience managing a portfolio of customer accounts is desirable.
• Strong organisation skills and ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including handling difficult conversations.
• Resilient, persistent, with a commercially aware approach to customer relationships.
• A strong team player who can also work independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of Newstrade and Parcels customer accounts and ensure payments are made on time.
• Proactively follow up outstanding debts and escalate when needed.
• Produce and review customer statements and monitor credit limits.
• Negotiate repayment plans while maintaining good customer relationships.
• Be the first point of contact for customer queries via phone, email and letters.
• Build relationships with customers, retailers, publishers and internal stakeholders.
• Investigate and resolve invoice and account disputes.
• Complete account reconciliations and maintain accurate ledgers.
• Produce debtor reports and provide portfolio performance updates.
• Maintain high data integrity across finance systems.
• Follow credit control processes for limits, holds and referrals.
• Identify process improvements and contribute to the team.
• Support wider finance and commercial projects as required.
