The Compleat Food Group are a fast growing Chilled food manufacturing company on a mission to create great tasting, affordable food that people love to eat.

We are looking to add to our Central Finance function in our Accounts Receivable department at our modern Redhill (Surrey) offices.

Job Description: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join our central finance team at our Redhill site. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working both remotely and in-office, with a commitment to 3 days per week on-site. As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing and collecting debts for the parts of the sales ledger assigned to you, ensuring timely and accurate allocation of cash, and resolving any issues that arise within Accounts Receivable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively chase unpaid debt both with the business and within the business for the parts of the sales ledger you are responsible for. This includes emailing and calling customers to seek solutions for non-payment.
  • Utilise ‘Tickler’ notes effectively to ensure credit control activities are matched to the customer, enabling any team member to pick up and manage the customer account.
  • Collaborate with customer directors and managers to resolve issues, including debit notes and other internal matters that cause issues in Accounts Receivable.
  • Handle customer debt disputes and escalate to the Accounts Receivable Team Leader as necessary.
  • Allocate cash to customer accounts in a timely manner that isn’t covered by the automated Ancora process.
  • Resolve any unmatched items from the Ancora process promptly, ensuring they are cleared down and matched accurately.
  • Provide samples requested by the external auditor.
  • Undertake ad hoc work as requested by the Accounts Receivable Team Leader.
  • Be an active and engaged member of the central finance team.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work at a fast pace.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to speak to the business and customers in a professional manner, including a willingness to call customers to chase unpaid debt.
  • Proactive attitude with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency with financial software and tools.
