Job summary

Cummins Mellor are recruiting a Credit Controller to join the finance team in Darwen in a hands-on, high-volume role focused on B2C credit control and online transactions. You will ensure customer accounts are up to date and payments are received on time.

You’ll monitor outstanding payments, keep online portals accurate, and follow up on overdue balances, with opportunities to work with wholesale customers and more varied accounts as your experience grows.

Qualifications

• Experience in credit control or a similar accounts role.
• Capable of managing a high volume of transactions and customer accounts.
• Confident chasing payments and addressing customer queries.
• Organised, accurate and able to prioritise a busy workload.
• Proactive with the confidence to follow up overdue payments.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to hit the ground running.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high volume of customer accounts and payments.
• Monitor online transactions and ensure payments are on time.
• Keep customer accounts and online portals accurate and up to date.
• Chase overdue payments by phone and email.
• Investigate payment queries and resolve discrepancies.
• Build and maintain good relationships with customers.
• Keep accurate records of credit control activity.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve outstanding issues.
• Progressively take on wholesale accounts and more complex customer accounts as experience develops.
